Questions families ask

About placement, pools and what a class is like.

How do I place my swimmer?

Book a placement visit. It is a short time in the water with an instructor, about twenty minutes, and your swimmer can get out at any time. The instructor suggests a level and a cap color, and shows you the classes with room.

What is a level?

There are six levels, each with a cap color and a short list of skills swimmers practice. The instructor decides when a swimmer is ready for the next one, and every swimmer moves at their own pace.

Which pool should we choose?

Choose the pool closest to home or work on a day that suits you. A swimmer's level decides which pools are open to them, and we go through the options at the placement visit. A swimmer can change pools and keep the same level.

How long is a class?

The first two levels meet for thirty minutes and the other four for forty-five, once a week. Some families take a second day when there is room.

What should we bring and wear?

A towel, goggles if your swimmer likes them, and a swim shirt or swimsuit; swim shirts are welcome in every class. Tie long hair back. We ask every swimmer to wear a cap in their level's color.

Where do I watch?

Each pool has a place for parents: a bench, the stands or a window onto the pool. We ask that a parent or guardian stays on site during every class.

Who is in the water with my swimmer?

An instructor is in the water or on the step beside every swimmer.

What if we miss a class, or a pool closes?

A missed class can be made up in another class of the same level at any of our pools, space allowing. If a pool closes for weather, a holiday or repairs, the class is made up too. We text families the same day.

How does tuition work?

Tuition depends on the level, the class length and the classes a week, and our figures are on the enrollment page. How tuition works explains registration, billing, make-ups and the costs beyond tuition.

How do we start?

Book a placement visit on our enrollment page, or call and we will find a time. After the visit you can register for a class the same day.

Still have a question?

Call or write, and we will answer within a day.
